Default Limiting straps and bump stop Q's

Ok I got a new jeep and putting together a lift on what I have experienced with my old xjs and friends xjs.. But never ran bump stops or anything and learned from my mistakes. So this time I'm going the extra step! Ok where are you guys mounting the straps on the Xj? And how are you mounting them. I already have the axle part figured out just depending on location of where I mount the top bracket. How do you know the length you need after mounting spots are established? They stretch some I assume so I'll need to account for that. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

For bump stops same questions as above but do you guys just buy extended ones or make some kind of them?? Thanks! Butch

If you are just putting together a lift how could you possibly know if you need limiting straps ?

they vary so widely from person to person its hard to say

get everything set up, flex out, then measure, then mount your straps where they fit. I did the same thing that KTMracer said

these red things are the way to go for bumps

There are some great write-ups we have been involved in with pictures and experiences regarding inserts and straps. What works for me is adding 'cherokee xj' to the search request and choosing results from jeep forums.
Here is a good start to familiarize. Then hit us back with questions and details (yes, those are beginner welds on the bumpstop plate)
