Get adjustable control arms or a long arm kit.

what are you going to do for longer brake lines? 4.5" you probably are going to need a SYE. you can try a t case drop but at that height I bet a sye will be needed. what tire size are you going to? are you going to regear? doubt you can run 4.5" lift with stock arms. I have never tried but have done a 3" and the stock arms were in a horrible angle, at 4.5" i bet your front tires will be super close to the fender well. i wouldnt do it

Going 4.5 is not cheap or easy when done right.

yes you can... it wont ride nice and youll have no flex but you can get by. I went for a month before i got longer sway bar links(NOT recommended), then another month before LCA's after I did my 4.5 lift.

yj brake lines at jy, $20.
v8 grand cherokee tie rod

there are shackles at autozone actually meant for lowering that lift 3-4.5" for $35 bucks, theres a thread on it here.

look at my build thread pretty much for a 4.5 lift on the cheap, i listed prices and stuff.

i drove my 99 2dr on 4.5 inchs for 2 yrs with stock arms, no sye, wheeled the hell out of that jeep too. once i got some money i bought some used rubicon arms, used rubicon trackbar, eventually did rc drop brackets, and some other stuff. but yes you can get away with it.

I would do it all at once. Removing those LCAs to put new ones in makes putting the coils in easier.
I'd rather do it all at once than **** with it again.

Just wait until you get all the parts and do it the right way. Your angles will be off coils shocks and trac bar will be pulled way back also not just the axle. More likely to wear out parts faster or break parts without doing it the proper way imo

Also not cheap once you want to go 4.5"+ in lift. Do you have any recovery lockers armor that kinda stuff already?

I'm a bit over 5.75" of lift & (hate to say it) am not running a drop transfer kit or a SYE (yet). Had to put a couple washers in to drop the skid plate a bit & it really helped with the vibration. The drop kits stink. I have one bolt & one stud where the skid plate mounts. Can't extend the stud to use the drop kit.

Don't throw the noose up in the tree yet. it's only temporary.

the manufacturers for these kits really should make a kit that you can buy and has EVERYTHING you need. Break lines, drop pitman arms, etc... I do think Rubicon Express does have a complete kit though........

the only think i didnt have with the 5.5" iro long arm kit is the drop pitman that is being shipped as we speak... very complete kit. built in option for a tcase drop or not if you dont want it and doesn't use spacers. extended brake hoses front and rear. you have a lot of options when ordering your kit like 3 different sye styles, 6 shocks( hydro, nitro, doetsch tech 8000, 3 different bilsteins....) but the kit at its base price came with everything i needed except a 39$ pitman arm.... and it rides better than stock so far.. it replaces almost everything so there's no new weaknesses in the suspension due to use of oem parts.
