Default lift suggestions?

I live in the heart of the colorado rockies and my jeep is about to become a toy instead of my daily driver. What would you guys suggest for a smaller lift? I'm lookin between 2"-3.5" of lift on my '92 Sport, manual trans. and i'd like to keep the cost under $650, but the cheaper would be nice.

3" is basically a sweet spot otherwise ur getting into needing to do more which turns into more $$$ lol rough countrys 3" full leaf pack kit is what i would go with.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm not terribly mechanical and not looking to fabricate anything so the bolt on packages are definetly enticing. What is the difference in ride gonna be between a spacer and something with an added leaf?

I did Old Man Emu 2in Heavy Duty leaf packs through Quadratec, $240 for the pair. The OME leaf packs need bushings, went with Daystar greasable set, also from Quadratec, about $40. Then some Rusty's Offroad 2in coils for $99 for the pair. I had 4 JK shocks to convert over for the XJ with BPEs but didn't get around to those, and just bought some cheapo shocks from autozone. Still on the to do list is to get some extended brake lines (see budget lift/junkard build thread) Now I also have some 1.5in extended shackles to throw in along with some coil spacers to get a little more lift once it all settles. The ride quality is pretty nice, I like it, it suits me, I'm happy. With shipping and all I'm under $500. My goal was to stay under 3in so to avoid dealing with SYEs and such for now. Since your talking a toy, you can also trim the snot out of it and then stuff the biggest tires you under it. Or you could also invest in sway bar disconnects and bar pin eliminators, etc. This should give you something fun and capable. This is pretty much the formula I'm running with since I don't have alot of money to spend on it, so instead of just getting a big tall rig, with not alot of goodies, I'm getting a decent lift and all the cool stuff I can think of. Food for thought, hope it helps.
