Default lift input im stuck!

i got the cash to order, but im torn between a 3 and 4.5 kit. any input you experts can give? i love the looks of a 4.5. and ive seen some 3 inch xjs that dont look lifted at all and some that i would be happy with the stance at 3 inches. Im not sure what i want to do. Im pretty sure it will be a rough country kit tho

I didn't like the on road ride of very many rough country lifted jeeps near as much as my tereflex kit and others like bds. And the stance depends alot on weight. Big bumpers and winches and such. If you do a kit that may reuse worn out springs that also affects stance.

i understand, that, my stock parts are in good shape the rear isnt sagging. as far as the ride quality. im not to worried about it. i enjoy driving it and will enjoy it even more with a beefier look. We sold our wrangler that had 36 inch swampers on it and it drove fine. didnt handle like a caddy and howled like no other but hey its a jeep and boy did it look mean

If you already have the $$, go with the 4.5, cause you're gonna want to down the road anyway...

3" is a good height in my opinion. Im going to eventually do 3.5" but im happy where im at right now. I dont know what size tire you plan on running but you can deffently clear 33's on 3". Heres my rig on 33's.

Go 4.5in. I went 3 and ended up going 5in very shortly afterwards. 5 is a whole lot better.

You may be able to run 33's with a 3" on the pavement, but if you stuff a tire wheeling you will slice The crap out of it.the componets I put together for my lift netted me 6.5 " over my stock height. And with trimming the fenders at full stuff I have put small slices in my 33" km2's when they were new.

Ive got the bump stops that came with my tereflex blocks thank you. Any you cant tell me you can take on anymore than sissy trails with a 3" and 33's and not cut some rubber.

Exactly! I went with 3" to start with and soon went to 4.5". You will be money ahead to just go with the 4.5

Not if bump stopped properly and the right back spacing.

Im not sure if they had an extended version when I got mine, I just ordered em. I kinda like the fact I get some good flexibility out of it, it really helps on the trails.

With proper length bumpstops, backspacing and trimming, 3" with 33's can go farther than a crazy tall rig that has a high center of gravity. Read this and maby you will learn somthing.
