Lift essentials for a noob.

Let me know if there is anything else I should need to property lift my Jeep to these specs. Not looking to trim and using factory ('01 limited) rims. Not looking to regear so I'm sticking to 33's (is this a bad choice?)

6.5 inch lift: http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_6x.html

New Tires 33's- A/T's with snow rating- 16x7 rim: 285 70 or 75 R16

Driveshaft: ? (need to find one)

Slip Yolk Eliminator: (need a good recommendation)

Steering Stabilizer: http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-dua...zer_87308.html (I've heard these are just a cover up for the death wobble)

Do I need a t-case drop kit or anything else? Let me know just trying to figure what I need. :tongue_smilie:

For steering stabilizer just get the single one it's like 25$. And I'd do 15x8 rims on a 33 but that's just me

Hey, thanks for the reply and advice. Does this list cover all that I need for my lift or am I missing something? Do you have any recommendations for driveshaft, sye, or tcase drop kits?

Either go longarms or you will need drop brackets. or smaller lift. Check out iron rock offroad hack and tap kit. Comes with drive shaft for like 200. Id suggest their lift to but that's just me since i've had rc in the past.

I ordered the 4.5" kit .... pretty similar set up.

This is what i've found,
1)SYE (cheapest i found is from JeeperzCreeperz after $10 discount)
2)Front driveshaft from an auto XJ (not sure starting from which year...i'm just gonna find the newest possible)
3)U-joints to rebuild the driveshaft (Spicer 1310)
4)No T-drop required if you are doing SYE but would probably need shims (i'm guessing 6* at least since you are running 6.5") with new center pins.
5)I'm running stock without steering stabilizer and i didn't feel any difference...prob won't need one but i went ahead and ordered the RC 2.2 anyhow.
6)Control Arm Drop Bracket

Awesome, I'll keep this thread bookmarked for the future and research a little more on those parts.

As for now... I just called on another XJ I spotted on CL a couple days ago (guy has already been called 9 times :furious:). Hoping to take a look and move into one with no rust. :thumbup1:

Keep your fingers crossed.
