Lift and Axle questions.
Ok so i am a person who loves to go mudding but i have now found rock crawling to be awsome!
So i am going to buy the following things from rough country 6.5" lift kit, Shackle relocation kit, 1.5 inch coil spacer, dual steering stabilizer kit, winch, and winch bumper.
Now for the question. Will i be able to run 35/12.50/R15 m/t tires using the stock axle and gearing? As of right now i have a 1997 jeep cherokee, 4.0L, Auto trans all stock...
Should i replace the axles? regear the stock axles?
Later plans include ( front and rear bumpers, locker in the rear, 4:10 gears, ect ect ect.....)

if you are nice to it and are only running 3.55 gears for a little while you should be ok... just don;t get the idea that it is going to just work out very nice...

Good for you

so you are going about 8" of total lift? you can run 35s on 4.5" lift if you trim... and only minor trimming at 6.5"... you do not need a steering stabilizer... and you certainly DO NOT need a dual one... I do not even have a stabilizer at all... mine goes straight down the road and rides great... even on bumps... personally I would reconsider the monster tall lift

you can... however you need to figure out if you have a c 8.25 rear axle or a Dana 35... if it is just the dana 35... swap it out... if it is the c 8.25, you can just be careful... as for the gearing... I wouldn't mine has to be ran in 3rd on the highway... your transmission will HATE you
Should i replace the axles? regear the stock axles?
one option is a Ford 8.8 with rear disc brakes and limited slip diff and 4.10s... and then just get a Jeep XJ 4 banger front end with 4.10s in it... then you COULD run 35s... but it would still be a little doggy

dual steering stabilizer is dumb. if you get 35s you will need one ton steering if you rock crawl. stabilizers are more like band aids. as for axles, you CAN run 35s stock. but nobody here will advise you to. normally 33s is max for the d30 up front.

35's should be considered the limit with the 30. Although I have seen a D30 locked with 37" IROKs without problems.
If you have a 29 spline 8.25 rear axle you will be fine. You will likely be safe running the 27 spline 8.25 rear axle with 35's as well, but not at all with the Dana 35.
I wouldn't go past 6.5" of lift.
