So I picked up these for the license plate light. They fit comfortably. Off Ebay.

So I figure for the time being the quest for LED's is done.
To summarize.
My Jeep is an '00. I do not have any trailer hitch wiring. I do not have DRL's. I do have factory looking fogs but the Jeep did not come with them. Even though they look stock up front and in the passenger compartment, because I used a factory switch, they are wired like aftermarket ones would be. They will not turn off when I use my high beams like I understand factory ones would.
I mention all this because people seem to experience weird things when they try to install LED's. Figure if you know where my Jeep is at might help.
Now best I can tell every thing works as it should. I put them through every scenario I could think of. Headlights on when you using blinkers/hazards. Headlights off doing the same. Brake on with headlights on. Brake on with headlights on using turn signals. Etc. You get the idea.
Now just because I have switched to white markers you would still use the same colors that I did behind each lens for factory lens. Remember best to put a red LED behind a red lens. So on and so forth.
Amber 3157's for turn signals front and rear. 6 total.

Now the 194's in the side markers. Cause of the polarity issue non polarity bulbs for here. 2 total. In amber.
https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...t-car/199/872/
Red 3157's for rear brake lights. 2 total.
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...bp2/11236878-P
Red 194 for the third brake light. 1 total.
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/sylvania-194-red-zevo-led-mini-bulb-pack-of-1-194rledbp/11349222-P?clickid=W8IWItU3aRIX2BmTe0UJD0S-UkgwQMW%3AP2eL2g0&irgwc=1&utm_medium=affiliate&utm _source=ir&utm_campaign=27795&utm_content=404718&c 3ch=Affiliate&c3nid=IR-27795
White 3157's for the reverse lights. 2 total.
https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...bp2/10998324-P
194 for the license plate light. 1 total. In white.

Now the goal was to use LED's that could be bought locally. In case you needed one quick. Because of the polarity issue with the side markers and me not liking that the 194 Sylvanias did not fit comfortably in the license plate light, even though that might not be an issue, made that not possible. Oh well.
EDIT: I forgot to mention the LED Flasher I bought to take care of the hyperflashing issue.

Extremely useful thread. This saved me a lot of searching and headache finding the proper LEDs for the sidemarkers, turn signals, and license plate. SuperbrightLED has a lot of the wrong LEDs listed in their "vehicle bulb finder" feature for XJs. Thank you Ralph77!

Got a dilemma here.
I have been reading this thread and another one "Question about replacement LED bulbs", and when looking at any sites other than Superbrightleds.com, the lumen output is not listed in the product descriptions. I see there are price discrepancies as well between sites, and I'm wondering about the brightness of each bulb.
My problem is that I got pulled by a state trooper revcently for a dead inspection sticker(oops). The trooper remarked that my "smoked" tail lights were woefully inadequate in the brightness department(it was afternoon) and would not pass inspection. I am running the stock incandescent bulbs, but have been planning to upgrade to LED, just hadn't gotten around to it. He also told me that smoked lenses were illegal in this state. He was cool about it- he didn't write me for the tail lights, just asked me if I still had the originals, and if I did, I should re-install and run them in the future. There seems to be a gray area in this matter, for I see MANY cars and trucks on the road in my area running smoked tail lights. I'm talking about well over 100 vehicles I see a day running aftermarket smoked tail lights. FWIW, they mostly seem to have LED's. Seems these folks would get pulled all over the place if this were really a legal issue IMO. I also asked 2 mechanics about the legality of them in my state before buying them and also the vendor I bought them from over the phone if they were legal here. All of their replies were similar- if it has a DOT "number" stamped on it, sure, you're good to go.
I'm just trying to figure out which LED's have the highest lumen output and go with those, hoping that the extra output offsets the darker shades they are being broadcast through, as I want to keep my smoked lights. I travel that road that I got pulled on daily, and I doubt the trooper would be as understanding the second time around. And for the record, I've never encountered a trooper in this state that was UNreasonable- not trying to bag on law enforcement here at all.
Any input is appreciated. Also, link to tail light lenses is below. I drive a 2000 Limited XJ.

I've had 4 different types of LEDs in my tail lights, and these are the brightest yet due to their ability to use the stock reflectors the best I believe.
That said, anything that limits the ability for those behind you to see you making an emergency maneuver (safety risk) just for the sake of appearance, is a really dumb mod.

So I saw this on Ebay and since I have no idea when I am going to get my SpoilerLights Orvis spoiler back on figured I would give it a try.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/12V-LED-3rd...72.m2749.l2649
I think they put the gasket on wrong that is behind the light. So I removed it and put it back on the way I think it should go. We will see what happens next time it rains. LOL.
Also I think at some point I will get another of the short harness that is in there and splice the connector from it to the light, getting rid of that "fake bulb", so it will connect directly to the bigger harness in the hatch.

So on the suggestion of Waynerd here I replaced the Zevo reverse lights with these.
The Zevo's are very visible to other driver's but throw no light out to really see behind you.
That could have something to do with the aftermarket tail lights I run that get rid of the amber lens in them.
Tough to see in the picture, new LED on the left and the Zevo one I had in there on the right, but I can see that it is brighter.
The true test will be when I back into my parking space at work Tuesday morning. LOL.

So I tried to take a picture for you guys but I could not get a shot that would portray exactly how bright the lights are.
Trying to do it from inside the Jeep was too dark. Outside they actually looked brighter in the picture then they were.
Waynerd was right though. Vast improvement.
Even viewing behind me through my privacy glass I could see much more then I could with the Zevo's.

So I need to apologize to you guys.
I realized something today after all this time.
With the headlights on the side and front turn signals alternate.
With them off they blink simultaneously.
So they blink but....
Anybody know which way is the right way for an '00?
Alternating or simultaneously?

But never saw the fix that kstopp posted.
But I am confused still.
So he is saying that from the factory when using turn signals with the headlights on they will alternate?
And when off the side markers and fronts will blink simultaneously?
So his fix is to make them alternate when the headlights are not on?
Which technically is not how it came from the factory?
Also I am not understanding that not going into half brightness mode.
What does that mean?
Of all the things that I am bad at electrical pretty much tops the list. LOL.

From the factory the following happens:
With headlights off: front turn signals and corner turn signals blink at the same time at full bright
With headlights on: front turn signals and corner turn signals alternate, and the front turn signals are switching between half brightness mode and full bright when they blink
The fix that I posted makes everything work as it did from the factory but with LED lights. The half brightness mode, is the front turn signals in their "park" mode, or when you turn your headlights on. Then full brightness is when the turn signal is "blinking" for a turn.
Hope this makes more sense!
