Default Lengthening upper control arms?

Well long story short, i screwed up. I bought a used lift kit to throw in my 87 comanche, and the previous owner told me they would work with the stock uppers. Well my pinion angle is basically flat. If anything, pointed toward the ground slightly. And i cant afford to buy adjustable uppers. Im going to loose my job if i cant get this thing on the road soon. I have all the steal to lengthen the stock uppers, but i just don't know if its practical. Have any of you guys done this before? I just cant have it be not safe. Thanks for the help, and i appreciate any advice.

Take out your front drive shaft and go to work. Then when you have the cash get ajustables. The stock arms arnt worth making longer. Keep an eye out on Craigslist and the forum for deals

I actually cant even connect them. Im about 1/2 inch away when the lower control arms contact the brackets where the shocks mount up to the axel, and it will not allow the axel to rotate back anymore.

I honestly don't know for sure. I do know it had adjustable rubicon express lowers. He said 4.5 inches. But then again he also said the uppers would work. Running 31s in the picture

4.5" should work with stock uppers people do it all the time here that looks more like a 6.5-7.5" to me

Pictured below is my XJ with 3.5" and 33's

Go back to stock suspension until you can afford to either build your own adjustable arms or buy adjustable arms.

It actually ride pretty nice opposed to some of the ones I test drove when I was first looking I drive one with short arm with drops on a 6.5 with 2.5 kings and it rode like **** and pretty much all of them rode like **** and flexed like ****. This isn't ideal on ride or flex but it works pretty well. When I hit bumps or holes I don't have any jarring or bump steer my shackle angle is 90* aswell and it still rides ok. I need to do replicators and at least adjustable arms and track bar but it works for now and works well. Granted I can't keep up as well as the long armed rigs in my neighbor hood. But I do way better than any yota locked or not.
