LED tail lights - brake lights always on?
 

I just put in a new flasher and LEDs in the front corner markers, all is well there. My issue is with the brake lights. With the stock bulbs, everything works as expected. After installing an LED on one side, it brightened the other taillight, the third brake light came on, and there's a barely perceptible difference between tail lights and brake lights. After installing the LED on the other side, they were at full brake brightness and there's no change in brightness when I step on the pedal. Switched back to the stock bulbs and everything works again. Sticking with stocks for now so I don't get rear ended. Do I need to put additional load on to make them work properly?

What year is your jeep I put led bulbs in my 93 ha to put two resistors on it just so the blinkers would work! Never got around to the back. But it might be a similar problem the older jeeps had used the heat of the bulbs for some things to work
Try a small resistor see if that helps.

I'm aware of having to do either a flasher or load resistors on the turn signals, but I'm having issues with the tail/brake and I can't seem to find anyone else who's had the same problem.

These are the bulbs in question. They have built in load resistors, which makes this more confusing for me.

Did you ever figure it out if they work as plug and play, I was also looking at those bulbs or these, I really don't want to cut/splice resistors. So far I have the EP27 LED flasher under the steering wheel.

I know this is a old thread but I'm having the same issue and mine is a 99. Weird thing is they worked before I installed my putco headlight harness. Can't tell the difference between run and brake on all 3 rear running/brake lights. Anyone got a fix besides puyallup stock 3157s back in?

Are you positive you have 3157s and not 3156s? Probably not the case since you said they worked lol.

Maybe try pulling them making sire they didn't succumb to any damage or something.

Yeah they are 3157s. I'm pulling them and putting in stock style bulbs after work for now but I would like to run the leds. They are much brighter and I would prefer that with the abundance of morons around here.
