Leaf spring questions
Hey there, I have a 98 XJ and I need to replace the leaf springs. I found a pair of aftermarket springs that are also lift springs. The lift is 3.5 - 4 inches. So I wondering if I have to modify anything else to make them work. Also I was wondering if I could reuse the stock shackles that are on it now and maybe just do the bushings on them. That's if I can get them out without destroying them. Any advice would be great.
Thanks Sterling .
Here's a link to the leafs I'm looking at.

Because I planned on lifting it anyways. I wanted to do a budget build and the leafs I've found online are about $100 cheaper than the stock ones. I found them for $105 a piece with free shipping.

Yea, I'm just doing one thing at a time. It's not my daily driver so I'm not in a hurry. That's the kind of things I'd like to know. So some replacement u bolts, eyelet bolts, shackles, adding a slip yoke eliminator, and some extensions to my brake lines. That should be about all I need right?

You will also need shocks. Save yourself the hassle and don't do a tcase drop. You can get a sye hack n tap for $100 and use a stock front drive shaft from a salvage yard for $30-$50.

Yea, I thought about that. I planned on getting new springs for the front in about a month and I figured I'd tackle all the problem of the front end then.

SYE kit is what evreyone is saying on these forums. the cheap quick route is the tcase drop. but eventually u shld do the SYE kit.

Why spend money to fix the same issue twice? Do the SYE and spend money and time one, save if you need to.
