Leaf spring pack question
I purchased a rc 3inch aal kit not knowing anything about suspensions at the time and now i regret it...i want to upgrade soon to about 4 or 4.5 with a spacer up front but i want to get rid of the aal and get a full pack..pro comp has a 3.5 inch pack and rough country and rusty's have 4.5 inch packs...from anyones experience with these, can you tell me how u like them and if they sagged how much?? I realize there is a thread right below this one and was mostly wondering about the pro comp

i had a ruff country 4.5 full pack in the back sagged out and warped all funny in about 4 months of heavy wheeling , i dono if there design has changed since then but i wasnt pleased, now i have procomp 4.5 full pack and there holding up it been about 8 months now and id say they've dropped probly a inch or soo , ive herad good things about rustys tho . just my 2 cents

You can always go and make a bastard pack with s10 or dakota leafs
|
hell i just threw s10 zr2 springs in mine the whole spring (had no choice i bent the main leaf) my aal was the contributing factor i would highly recommend the s10 bastard pack mine rides far better then ever and i have to puck the front up to match the rear now i was 4.5 now going up to about 5.5.. a regular s10 spring will be lower then the ones i had

i also had rc on mine not happy with the over all performance of their products i now run rustys very pleased with product and service from them dont now about the procomp.

type of bushings matter to you?
I was looking into about the same thing you are a while back and found a bunch of posts saying that the RC & Procomp use polyurethane bushings while Rustys and others use rubber. I found most people prefer the ones with rubber bushings because they flex better. Didn't find too much info on durability/sag. I haven't gotten rid of my awful block lift because of body/subframe rust and have since decided to replace the whole jeep, hence I'm no longer looking for springs. So no real experience here with those, just what I found in other posts a while back.
FWIW I was going to get a 3" springpack of some kind with rubber bushings and get the rest of the lift from shackles, also with rubber bushings. Never got around to actually picking one out though. |
