just bear with me. and help plz.
So i think i might be one of the only jeep owners to say this... i dont want my jeep any higher. As a matter of fact i want it lower. Im a big fan of rally and to have a bit more of a tall hatchback feel instead of the truck feel i get from it would be pretty good. My grandma also rides with me occasionally and shes short. Any suggestions? Thx.

Buy a CRX, put a grocery cart handle on it, along with a very loud exhaust.
Have mom make you a PB&J.
Weep openly.
Go back under your bridge.

Can't help on lowering your Jeep but there are builds like what you are interested in. Here's a link to one, seems pretty thorough. http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/for...d/27247/page1/. If I had to guess for a cheaper alternative, you could do a bastard pack from an S10 but use less leafs in the rear to lower the back and i'm sure there are junkyard coils from cars, maybe AMC Eagles?, that will lower the front. To each their own, I just don't condone putting 20"+ rims on it. Start a build thread, i'm sure plenty of people will be interested in seeing different kind of build. Here's a link that might help you more. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/ho...-racing-72580/

On topic: the grassroots build posted for the XJ-R is great. The rig is super cool, and if I'm not mistaken, the guy is on CF.

Rally cars get lifted. They are usually independent front suspension too.
The XJ has solid axles and won't tolerate being lowered without putting tiny tires on it. You won't win any races offroad in a lowered XJ. You probably wont even complete the race.

That is a neat XJ with some creative work done with it...but I don't see the point of it except just to do it for the heck of it. My little n/a 1st gen MR2 would have annihilated it on the same track.

Is it 4wd? I would figure out some shorter coils up front (stock TJ?) and maybe leaf under axle in the rear. Sounds like a lot of work, if your hell bent on the low life out of an XJ bag it.

If equipped, remove factory block in rear of leaf spring pack. Located between leaf spring pad and leaf pack. Should be like a .75'' or 1.0'' block. Either cut the front coils or experiment with some junk yard coils. I have see an XJ lowered once and had a clean appearance. Kid used to roll with a tuner crew and what not. I mean its not for me at all but jeeps are for the unique not the ordinary.
