Default Junkyard tow hooks

I was at the junkyard and I saw a xj with tow hooks and I wanted to pick them up for some temporary recovery points until I get bumpers. I just wanted to know how easy are they to remove and do I need to remove the bumpers?

you will need the bumper brackets, the xj's with tow hooks have an extra bolt which is usually a huge torx bit and my buddy has given up many times on getting them

Worth trying for sure. The right tools and it should be no big deal to get them off.

I got a pair from a Grand Cherokee in a junkyard, mounted them my front tow brackets.

Yes you have to remove the bumper. You need all bracketry EXCEPT the bumper. The mounting brackets ARE the most important part of the Tow Hook Assembly. Without the brackets, you can't mount the HOOKS.
