JK steering wheel on a XJ? How?

Saw an add today for a xj a guy was out to sell. He swapped his 97+ xj steering wheel for a 2012+ JK wheel and it looks really good. Just curious if anyone has any experience with this and can tell me or link me to some how to’s, and what I need to be successful if I try the swap myself!

Attached is the photo for reference.

Be more interested if all the new buttons work

Yeah, If you could get it to fit on easily enough, I'm sure you could snag a wiring diagram and wire it up!

I'm pretty sure everything on JKs is CanBus so unless there is a canbus converter out there not likey.

That looks super nice, I would like to know how he did it. Easiest ways think would be to have an adapter that goes over the original spline (pinch nut style) and on top it has the spline for the newer ‘12+ model? Is that safe, I dunno...
