Default Front shock bushings

The bushings on my front shocks are being chewed up the the washer on top. They are bilstein 5100 and years ago i installed them from the box as they came.
I knew the bushings were having issue by a visual but i took the washers of today to see how the really looked and they are toast!!!

I dont know why these have gotten so chewed up or if there is a particular bushing the XJ needs as the mounting hole is 1" wide about? most of the bushing damage is where they sandwhich the wheel well. Please help where these improperly preloaded?

also how are two rubber bushings not going to get chewed up when the mounting hole is that large?

Did they have two metal cups with holes in them to put https://bilsteinlifts.com/shop/jeep/...-lift-shocks/#, as shown in this picture?

These are after 3 months brand new bushings again from bilstein. Why are these wandering so much? I gotta find a way to fix this. I thought maybe some washers but that may chew threw the shock post. What would you recommend to fix this?

That hole is wallowed out and it is huge.

You can fix that by getting an appropriate sized machine bushing and welding it to the shock tower.

The problem is not your bushings.

Yes, at one point your shock was loose and wallowed out the tower. You need to address this issue first.
