Jeep Wrangler np231 t-case, sye and dv fit on my 2001 cherokee?
Looking on craigslist and i found a np231 t-case, sye and custom driveline for a wrangler.. Will these fit on my xj with a 6 inch lift?
Some questions that have come up from a friend who did the searching for me. "Hey might want to get a hold of that guy again just to make sure the spline count on the input shaft is going to match up... I think the magic number is 23.... cant remember for sure though. And I know SOME wranglers had different length of output shaft on the transmission, this MAY alter the depth of the input on the transfer case, but I cant remember...." Anyone know of any fitment issues? Thanks so far i've found out that he had a 6cyl wrangler so that makes me believe the spline count is identical... |
The TJ tcase is clocked flat, the XJ tcase is slightly dropped on the drivers side or the case.

It will bolt up. You may need to do some adjustment to your driveshafts though. The input and output shafts in a TJ tcase are shorter, as their driveshafts are already so short. Due to this you may end up needing a longer driveshaft, and I've even seen some that require modification to the floor to keep the cv joint from banging. Or you can swap the shafts from your XJ tcase.

I dunno, that tcase may not work because of the clocking... |
