Default Jeep 4.7 Stroker Tuning

I recently just built a 4.7 stroker for my 1999 Jeep XJ. Its got AFE Headers and AFE catback exhaust a 62mm throttle body and running a 27# injectors. Im having problems breaking in the cam I cant keep it running past 5 minutes. The exhaust manifold is glowing red at 2000rpm. It will run for those 5 minutes and then pop out the exhaust and die. Do I need to reprogram anything?
Please Help

Have you installed a wideband AFR sensor? I used my stock injectors to break in my cam for my stroker in my renix XJ. After I broke it in, I put in larger injectors and tuned the AFR with a MAP adjuster that i built.

Glowing red exhaust manifold probably means your running it way lean; especially only at 2k RPM. Like GRohr said; wideband AF sensor will be your friend.

Mine was glowing red at break in also. That's what they do, every body on jeepstrokers.com said that's what they do. I installed an aem wide band. no you can't run an adjustable map sensor on obd2 it adjusts automatically. My injectors were 24# and 68 mm throttle body. i don't think with 27# you would be running lean. Make sure you don't have any vacuum leaks and that your fuel pressure is good. Did you index your distributor correctly?

No vacuum pressure on your intake manifold? The wideband AFR sensor will just let you know how rich or lean you are running, it won't automatically fix anything but I am not exactly sure what you meant in the last post.

I really think that the wideband AFR will let you know how the fuel is doing and we can go from there. When you see how it is running, post the numbers and you can use all of us to help troubleshoot from there. It took me almost 2 months from drooping in the engine till I got the engine to run how I wanted it to so be patient and just remember that the outcome is well worth it.

You should look at jeepstrokers and see how people there have done it with the odb2
