Default JCR stage 3 rear bumper clearance issues!

I've never been so frustrated in my whole life... I swear not one thing on my jeep has gone smoothly

Anyway here is my new problem. The top of my newly install tire swing is hitting my hatch(The light part over the license plate). Like W.T.F JCR why would you make it so tight there is no room for play. How can I fix this? Should I put washers the try and even the angle of the bumper?

just put some foam tape on it so it keeps it from rattling and scuffig your paint. how does it bolt to the frame, is it adjustable?

Man why do you think people join forums.. . To ask questions... Either write something helpful or don't write anything at all.

Thanks!

It uses the 8 bolts that screw into the frame. Its only adjustable from side to side. After work I'm going to Rona and buying a couple different washes to fix the angle.

I have same bumper and same problem. even if you space the bumper out it will still make contact in offroad conditions because of the flex. I removed the license plate cover light assembly. Its useless any way since the plate is outside on the rack. It came out easily and I just rtv a hole plug where the wire harness was.

They said that the 97+ xj have this issue... LOL seriously? I spend over 900$ on this bumper and it doesn't fit properly... WHY THE **** WOULDN'T YOU SAY SO IN THE FIRST PLACE. Mannnn I just don't understand the way some business's work. The bumper is displayed on a 97+ Cherokee and it still has his license plate light bar on...

Also just had a good laugh reading the description on the bumper "These bumpers are created by professional fabricators therefore the welds, over all fit, and attentions to detail are second to none"

JCR has a good reputation for having odd fabrication. I have purchased almost everything there is for XJ from their website. There is not one thing they have where it fits perfectly, some modification is always needed.

I would say that the stage 2 bumper from them is the easiest to put on.

To your question, you can possibly add a bump stop, I'm not really sure how those operate, but Home Depot may be able to help you if you give them your situation XD

This is a long shot, but did you try to adjust the tailgate stops in at all?
