JCR Rock Sliders Install w/ RE Long Arm
Has anybody installed JCR rock sliders (Stage 3 is what I have) with a Rubicon Express Long Arm Kit? I mocked mine up today and something is a little off.
Did you have to take the extra support plates that go from the frame rails to the pinch seam apart? The sliders look like they will fit, but I will have to take the bolts out of the plate and drill the pinch seam mount on the sliders to accept those bolts. Otherwise it just seems that they are stick out further in the front.
I have to bust out the tape measure and see if the rails are off at all. JCR make good stuff, but others have said and I have noticed that sometimes, they are a little off. Otherwise it is bomb proof stuff.

I will post pics tomorrow. Its dark now and my camera phone lacks a flash.
I have to take out the tape measure and see. It looks like from my eyes they will be square if the bolts in the extra plates weren't there.

i have JCR stage 3 sliders as well ... JCR sliders for XJ's are know for knot lining up correctly .. We run their sliders on 3 of our XJ's and 2 out of the 3 did not fit or line up properly ... same thing : sticks out A LOT more in the front ..
Very disapointing considering the price.. when you pay good money for quality sliders you would expect them to fit properly . right ?

Got started
This thread has been idle a while but I finally got time to start the install on these sliders. I have always been happy with JCR's stuff, but these sliders are off dimensionally somehow. It might be the XJ, might be the sliders either way i am going to make it work.
The first thing about one of my sliders (only got to installing one so far) is in order to butt both uni-rail mounts tight to the floor (like the directions say) I have to use the entire weight of my XJ to flex the mounting arms, and then bolt them in.
There are no directions specifically for the LA version of the sliders so I am guessing and doing things my way.
The sliders do appear to stick out further in the front than in the back. I don't know if it is the XJ or the sliders. It's not that bad, and I actually kind of like it now. Just be forewarned.
The pinch seam bar on the sliders sticks is far too far out for the spacers provided to me by JCR, but not far enough to clear the RE long arm support braces (bolt heads). By the way I only got 6 spacers and there are 10 holes, 8 holes that can be used with RE LA bracket) I know that there is no way for JCR to put the holes in for the RE support bracket. They will be different for every install. So if I can't clear the bolt heads, I will drill holes in the slider pinch seam rail to run the bolts through
As you can see there is flex in the bar from were I had to pull it in.
There is not enough clearance between the pinch seam support and the sliders box tubing to get all the RE bolts into the support beam. I could use some but as I got closer to the weld on the pinch seam support, there was less flex. I had to use progressively shorter bolts.
After much planning, drilling, re-drilling, welding, re-drilling again, and grinding. I got all the bolts holes to line up on all the parts.
I will be continuing to install the other side as the week progresses, hopefully it goes easier than the first slider. Sorry about the crappy pictures my camera is dead and this is the best my phone can do.

I think so too. If I remember right the body lines of an XJ narrow as it moves toward the rear. At least on the newer body styles.

yea all sliders do that, the XJ body tapers in as it gets closer to the front. that is why my bushwackers are 5" in the front and 3.5" in the back

It has been a while since this thread was put up, but some things kept me from finishing the install, rotten rockers
Replaced the whole rocker so there would actually be something to protect.
Rock sliders installed
I ended up linking the JCR long arms into the RE plates. It made everything real strong, but I would not recommend this way it is a serious PITA! The rock sliders being off was just an illusion of the XJ's body lines and all the mounting plates were actually okay

Thanks for all the pics. I got these this week and am about to get them on my rig. I noticed the pinch seem bracket isn't centered, did you install yours with the pinch seem bolts more toward the front or the rear?

Can't recall at the moment. My sliders were marked left and right when I got them. I can't visualize what your talking about if you want to post a pic

All good, on another thread, found out the makers welded the letter F on each to be put toward the front. Pinch seams are more toward the front by design.

It looks like a capital F made out of a welding bead on the top of the sliders near the front I would take a pic, but it can't be seen.
