Default I've got a grinding/scraping noise

Guys I need some help tracking down this noise.

I just recently lifted my xj about 3" and have had a few issues but have been able to figure out what it is and fix them. (did alot of searching on here and got some answers)

I am having a very brief grinding/scraping noise when I accelerate or decelerate when I am going about 35mph or faster. it is very short for about a second or 2.

Everything that I have found is telling me that I need a SYE but My XJ is a 2WD so that is not an option.

I really need some help here guys cause it is driving my crazy and I also don't know if its safe to drive. Don't want something to break or tear up while I'm driving. If I can't figure it out soon I am going to have to bite the bullet and take it into a shop. PLEASE HELP!!

As far as Iknow. What should I look for to determine if they were not?

The SYE answer was on the right track. Mine is 2wd for now as well, had the same issue. Dropped the tranny crossmember (just like a t-case drop) an the problem is gone.
