Default IRO hack n tap drive shaft slip question.

Istalled the IRO hnt with the refurbished front drive shaft. Wanting to see how many other people have done it and how much slip you have in the drive shaft.
I feel like I dont have enough, and i'm a little worried about killing my transfer case.

97 4.0 5 inches of lift here are some pics

I did mine today. I am at 5 inches also. I have exactly the same amount of slip in mine. I hope its enough. I cut the shaft to exactly one inch of splines, but then I had to cut the actual yoke a bit, otherwise it would be to long for the output shaft. Weird because the instructions did not mention that that would be necessary. Did you also have to cut the yoke?

Im having second thoughts about throwing my new HnT on my 99 after seeing this. At 3 inch I really dont think it will fit now.

This thread may have saved me a huge hassle.

Looks about right...maybe a little less gap would work better, but I doubt you will be able to droop the rear axle enough to cause any harm.

Default IRO Hack n tap on 3 in lift

Hey guys, I have searched I found many threads on the IRO hnt, but none reallly addressed a concern I am having.

I am concerned on my 98 the front DS will be too long to run. Why? because Im seeing threads where guys with 4-4.5 are having this issue.

What is the minimum amount of space you want the front DS extended?

Guys that have a 3 in lift and a H n T did you have any issues at all? how did you fix them?

Thanks!

98 SE, AW4, 3 in lift, I am going to be using a 2000 ds from an auto.

you dont have to run a front shaft from your exact year or model in the rear you no.

Im sorry this was supposed to be a new post, Im not sure what happened.

Yeah I have a 98 se not a 99 and Im using the front DS out of a 2000. Im just wondering if its a good idea to put this on with only 3 in of lift.

getting rid of the poor factory slip yoke for a bolt one style is a great addition even to a stock vechicle

My concern was that it actually is not enough gap for when the suspension compresses. I know I am fine as far as droop. There is enough slip for that for sure.

I have approximately .75" of gap and don't have any problems whatsoever. You'll be just fine.
