Intake swap and apn header
I did the intake swap and header on my 95 4.0 I found a couple of things that I didn't know befor hand after reading how to do it for 2 years..
1st : you will need a new power steering bracket (knew this)
2: you need a 97+ power steering pump with the long bolts!!
3: the 2000 + intake flanges are thinner than the exhaust flange!!!!! Causing the bolt to seat a little cockeyed ; this may cause a vacuum leak or a misfire (mine seems to be okay)
4: if you want a clean install expect this to take a whole day or two to do this swap (I cleaned my ports and painted stuff) also running back and forth to the store to get vac lines and connectors
This may be in the wrong section so sorry about that but as for performance:
Very pleased!!!!!!!! It idles smoother, shifts smoother sounds deeper and has no problems going up hills, the whole rpm range has more power!! Fuel economy seems a little better but haven't done a test yet but here are some pics:

Lastly I had to take a dremel with the sandpaper roll and smooth down some of the sides of the runners on the intake. Little stuff just VERY time consuming!
Make sure you use the instructions though and install the bolts into the head as the instructions say, I tried to do it without them and didn't get very far!

I love the cowl intake my only problem is that it is loud as crap inside just drivin around BUT when you get on it, it sounds like and I quote from a freind "It sounds like a monsters gonna climb through the glove box and eat me!"
But yes very happy with it and it seems to stay pretty clean 6000 miles and only a couple blade of grass in it 👍
