Intake mod, how?
I've seen the intake mods where they run a tube from the stock air box to that wall,(firewall?) I'm wondering how to do it exactly. And if having that right there creates alot of intake noise inside the cab? I tried to find a write up and couldn't. Sorry if this is a repost

I got the Spectre Cowl intake. Makes a pretty good difference in power and acceleration.
But yes it make a good amount of noise inside the cab. I have gotten used to it and not cared anymore. The Flowmaster tunes it out as well as my music.

I will be honest and say the noise will be alittle off putting at first. But you will get used to it. It sounds ridiculous but make a loud sucking air noise with your mouth and think of that in a deeper tone inside your cab haha
It really isn't that big a deal after a couple weeks. You will find the benefits worth it

I did the mod with the air box in place. The only big noise difference for me is on start up. Definitely much louder, but only briefly. It settles down and is virtually undetectable.
The above write up is pretty good, but I just used some 3" flexible tubing from Spectre and called it good.
No problems with rain, and its a lot easier to change the filter in the stock location.

+1 for the Spectre
No problems with water either. Been in rain, washes, etc.
Noise is minimal and sounds nice at WOT (or close to anyways). There's a few things I'm going to do next time its off (checking /servicing filter at would changes)
Smooth the edges of the hole on the firewall. Make the hole same shape/size as the pipe inlet. They have you drill a 3" hole, its enough but the the pieces that goes on the firewall is more like an oval shape. I think making it all flush and smooth and sealing with RTV (maybe) will take the annoying out of the sound.

There is also this one:

It's on my list of mods for next year. The actual filter they use and the one I use on my Mazda RX8 are made by the same company.

I'm not too keen on a huge tube going over the motor to the passenger cowl.
