Immediate Shock Help!!! BILSTEIN

I have a 98 xj classic. I bought a rubicon express 4.5 super flex kit last week. It didnt come with shocks. What Bilsteins would go with this kit?

Not really immediate question lol have you searched? Bilstiens website should show what ones you need for that lift

Its actually Immediate. I need to order them soon as in tonight.

Doesn't matter your lift. If you run short arms 10" or possibly 11" travel shocks is the most you are going to get with 32 or larger tires..

So order 10" travel shocks, and bump accordingly.

If you run lca drop brackets you can go larger.

The proper way to do it is to measure your entire travel with the lift installed. Then you will know for certain.

Do you think these will work?

God I hate people like this. Who's with me???

Don't know. I do NOT go by what lift you have. It does not matter. Most kits I install come with shocks that are too short.

I run 3" of lift with shocks that would go on a 5in lift or more.

What matters is your entire suspension travel.

I just happen to know that with 32+ tires you will only get about 10 of shock travel front and rear. The way your kits arms are recessed you may get 11", but if your tires tuck nice then you will loose an inch of travel up top with 11" shocks.

So what I am saying is if you are not going to do it the right way and measure your travel, then just order 10" shocks. They should do the trick.

I run 10" bilstiens on my xj with 3" and 33's

For gods sake
You could answer your own question in seconds by googling.

Or go measure what extended and collapsed lengths you need

Not the people but the entitled attitude. Immediate help means you're stuck on the side of the road in the snow, surrounded by the undead. Otherwise, post your question without the histrionics and wait for someone to answer.

Maybe Silas can explain why their question is so important?

For an XJ 84-01 BILSTEIN 5100 Series 5-6" lift will be, Fronts 24-185943 and for the backs,33-151663. If it sits about 4" of lift then you need,,front's 24-188197,, backs 33-066868

That would involve actually doing something. The op is probably a young guy, like me, from the participation trophy generation. Some people my age, wow, just wow.

If you don't have anything meaningful to say then you don't have to comment. I actually tried to do some research but it seems that everyone seems to be running different ones, So I asked on here, sorry for wasting so much of your time?

No one is with you because you are a narcissistic *******

holycaveman 11-21-2013 07:28 PM

Listen Silas. You bought a thousand dollar lift. And you are getting a quality shock. Take a little time and do it right. They will still be selling bilsteins next week.

Measure your

collapsed and extended length. Then purchase Accordingly. Best I can advise you.

I'm with him lmao, we've asked why you have just measured it yourself and no reply, even the unholy caveman gave some good advice and you don't seem to care. This is a easily search and easily done thing to do. Immediate would be your jeep shut down and you work in a few hours, or on the side of the road and not working. Don't be a self centered punk, take some initiative and a tape measure and goes sure, or be a little lazier and do some searching.
