Default I have 400 dollars left in my Budget what should I buy!

Recently bought an 89 Cherokee with 138k on it. I have 400 bucks left in my budget after doing the following things any recommendations on what I should spend the rest on.

-New water pump
-New Radiator
-New Brakes
-Replaced Head Gasket
-Replaced exhaust manifold
-Replaced fan clutch

Shocks look sketchy they seemed to cut the shock out of the coil over and replaced it with a adjustable air shock.

It had a hard time shifting out of 4wd and had to get it to mud so it would disengage dont know if that happens on all of them. I will post pics of the shocks and the jeep. Any advice you can give this noob would be appreciated. FYI I am in CA so I have to deal with BS smog.

I don't see anything abnormal with the shock

Those don't look like adjustable air shocks to me, some people have trouble shifting into and out of 4wd. Most people suggest trying to go in reverse to help disengage it.

I vote do something with the rear before you damage the flares.
Possibly new spring packs or a long add-a-leaf.

Although the front looks to be slightly lifted...
I am assuming that the front is factory ride height and the back is just saggy?

there were no coil overs or adjustable air shocks ever on your jeep. what you have there is exactly what jeep uses, a coil spring and a gas shock. just regular stuff. your shocks don't look that old. leave the front setup the way it is and as mentioned, do something with the rear. either install extended shackles or even a set of new leafs.
since the rear doesn't look like it had any attention as they're a little more difficult than the front, i would say you need new shocks for the rear too.
the front shocks are your typical white body shock that many companies use and just put their stickers on, you can get away with skyjacker or any low priced aftermarket shock and you will be fine.

that's what i would spend my 400 bucks on.

Where in Cali? And if you are having trouble with the shifting maybe invest in the cable shifter that BleepinJeep installed in one of his YouTube vids? Makes it super easy to shift. And you will still have money left over or various other things. Maybe set it aside for future repairs?

You don't state if you've done any routine maintenance yet. I'm assuming that since you did the head gasket that you've also done new plugs/wires. Diff/trans/TC fluids? Did the previous owner smog it pre-sale (as required by law)? Hard to tell the condition of the tires, are they ok?
If you don't know what to blow $400 on, then just save it for now. Something will come up (either want or need) soon enough. Welcome to the CF.

I would make sure that it will pass inspection before spending any more money on things not required to be able to drive it. If it does pass then go for a few extras if you like.

this! It's very critical that you have it pass inspection before doing anything more to it.

Agreed! You will mess up the rear with saggy leafs

x3

Then it all depends on what you want to do.
Me with $400 bucks I'd hit the thread on J/Y parts for XJ's and start hunting for gold.

Since I lifted mine, the only way I can disengage 4wd is by bouncing the front end off a curb... or hitting a big hole.

Fortunately, I enjoy both.
