Will a hole saw such as this http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...52&R=202327752 Work to cut a hole in this??

no those holes saws can cut metal just fine but like someone else said it might not work because the pilot bit. unless the size of the hole saw fit that tapered part it might work.

there are carbide bits out there but they're crazy expensive, use a lubricating oil and go slow if you see smoke you're doing it wrong, go slow its not a race, i don't know if you have a drill press but i think the only way youd keep it centered is clamp that puppy down good on one

Just dont get a wood cutting bit.. The tips are too long and either bend over, break, or just plain melt away. Especially on the thickness of metal it looks like you're gonna cut.
And i'd recommend you use a plug in style drill, one with the screw lock would be best. More than likely the bit is gonna break free and spin unless its clamped in the drill tight, but thats mostly only with the round backed bits, which im still not sure why they make... lmao

For materials up to 1/8" thick.
I'm assuming you want to open the center of that piece up? take a piece of wood, drill your 2 3/8" hole in that, then attach that over your workpiece, effectively making a hole jig. that will center your holesaw until you get your cut started.
I'd also assume you're going to do this in a drill press? It will be a good challenge with a hand drill.

Sheetmetal only. Fancy piece of holesaw though!
