Hydro assist
Hi Guys!
I'm thinking about add hydro assist to my XJ.
If you have any experience with hydro assist, help really appreciated.
I'm looking for Pics, opinions, tips and tricks how to mount this on the jeep.
Thanks in advance!

I ran the setup from TrailGear. Great kit with Ram N hoses. I used a diff ring with Ram mount from DIY offroad (for a Dana 60 tho) I also used the EMS Offroad from steering box cap. It's tapped and comes with the fitting for drilling and tapping the steering box top cover.
It was all very simple and would turn 37's with ease. Also kept it straight in the lane no matter what street or trail I drove on.

Do you have any photos how your steering box looks like?
I have an idea how to mount this, but I still wonder about steering box.
BTW I'm going to buy the same trail gear kit as you have.

You may have to call them and ask about it.
It was a few years ago when I did this build and I've traded off the YJ last year. I don't have any really good pics in my folder of that build.
You may be able to find another front replacement steering box cap from another vendor, perhaps on Pirate. I liked that the EMS cap had the boss for the Hydrolic hose exiting on the side. pretty much it's just a snap ring on the front of the cap, remove it and turn the wheel to help push out the old cap, they replace. The EMS kit came with a 90* fitting for the top cap. Just remove the 4 bolts on the top cap, drill and tap it then reinstall with the fitting in it. The TrailReady kits hoses will work just fine with it. Good luck with the kit. There are plenty of vendors that can supply the stuff you need, but the DIY fab stuff is SUPER beefy.....

Check that, DIY 4x has a cap of their own.

It comes out the front, but a 90* elbow would work with it. They also have a weld on bung that I think works on a stock front or top cap. Check out the bottom of page 2 in the link.
