Default Humvee wheels and tires on xj

I I found these and I love them. My question is will they fit, and if so, how much work is it going to be to get the lift on.

I have to get a 5-8 lug adapter. I know that much. I'm guessing a 4 inch lift to make it work. Does that seem about right?

Final thought, is this worth it?

They have crazy high backspacing on them. A lot of the guys who run them are on full widths so they sit into the body more or they cut out the center and re center the rim to their liking. To get to a 8 lug pattern from your axles would be pretty hard. You would probably have to convert to 6 lug components then convert from there again. That's why people get them for one tons cause they are already 8 lug.

Lets back the truck up before you spend money,37s on your stock axles is a time bomb that will blow unless its a bro truck/mall crawler.Running adapters is never ever a good idea and you can get a set of 12 bolt recentered http://www.trailworthyfab.com/Custom-Hummer-Wheels/ the 24 bolts are over kill they was designed for the heavy amored up h1.The military tires suck don't waste your money on them. They have a supper thick side wall to handle the armor h1 weight,Well on anything lighter then a diesel 1 ton its going to ride rough.Stick to 35s unless your going to swap to 1 ton axles,If your going to swap axles then get your beadlocks.

Take the candy right from the baby's mouth. No I understand, I'm not ready to beef up the axles and I'm not trying to break everything. I'll stay with what I have for now. Thanks for the warning.

That and a TON of cutting would be needed with 37s on a 4" lift. Some guys run 33s or 35s on a 6.5"

33" tires require a lot of cutting with a 4 1/2" lift if you want to really flex it out and 35's are pushing it for a stock axle D30/Chy 8.25. JMHO

In stock form the wheels suck, you need rim stiffeners minimum. I've recentered a few sets and it's not that hard and a much better idea than adapters. I wouldn't run those tires on anything smaller than a one ton truck due to the sidewalls. You can get smaller tires if you want to run the wheels but you'll also need o-rings and some type of insert. If you plan to air down get the PVC ones. They are a cheap beadlock that gets expensive quick and tire sizes are limited due to no one other than Interco and a few others making a decent 16.5" offroad tire.

Airbagit is known for making junk i would stay far away from them.As far as bedlocks i have been eye balling http://www.badwheelsinc.com/ lately. They are different and 17x10 super easy to run any tire you want pretty much.

Hey, you are the one that asked. I was just responding to YOUR request. Not recommending anything. And yea, I know you were being sarcastic.

I forgot that company made them. Looking at them I wouldn't ever run them either.

Ok so say I did get those wheels and tires.. Or go to a large tire like that. What size lift would I need (remember I am not going to do much wheeling) and what axle set up do I need to look for?

You'd need full width axles out of at least a 1-ton truck just to fit those wheels. For those particular tires, you need the strength of those 1-ton axles just to push the weight of the tire reliably. By 1-ton, we're talking about F-350/3500 level. If you just want to run off-the-shelf 37s, you can do it stock with a lot of cutting, or you can lift it 14" and leave the body alone.

Do me a favor, and do a lot more reading and research before you make any of these modifications. If you don't know what you're getting into, you can take extremely dangerous shortcuts without even realizing it.
