Default How much should a water pump cost?

I am in the middle of building my stroker motor and I went shopping for a new water pump. I have it apart, may as well replace it. When I looked online, I found them anywhere from 16$ to 85$! Why such a wide range? Back in the good old days you could slap a 40$ water pump on there and it would outlast most of the rest of your parts. So, I was just curious what I should expect to spend for a decent water pump these days.

I paid $20 for a reman unit. For a stroker, I'd do a highflow pump.
