how much does your trans flex
You can hold your brake or get on a slippy hill in 2wd
open the door and gas it as you look under
mine flexes up about 3/4 of a inch
i have a dc drive shaft and the 1st u joint goes bad from the flexing
what is supposed to hold the trans?
it just rests on that rubber transmission mount?
is this why sum people get aftermarket engine mounts?
anything wrong wit chaining it down i put a strap on there it wont last though but works.
ive seen hotrods have there motor chained down
also check out my rubicon express hack n tap, its very close to the transfercase. is there even splines that close ?
the plate does wiggle a bit should i worry?
previous owner drove it 9 years like this but maybe my bad u joint damaged the plate , i could remove the bolt and weld it there.

i think they didn't drill and tap deep enough!
there was a ring of rtv that was hanging off the washer where the plate is bolted on
i could add another thin washer but i cant get the bolt loose
im not sure if it could break the park gear or transmission. i need to jack it up higher and use a breakerbar or better impact, i didnt want to hurt anything so i put the shaft back on for now
on the double cardan the center ball is on the yolk flange. i didnt find a dust cover just a spring and needle bearings that fall out when separated, the steel cylinder the ball slides onto, is it replaceable? is the ball on the flange replaceable also? the flange looks like this part http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p214...ke_1310_s.html but mine has no markings and is a solid peice the spicer one has welds
there is rebuild kits for the bolt on yolk style maybe the ball is the same

went wheeling last night, left the trans strapped down, while going up hills i got a loud noise in the front, friend thought it was a bent rod or that its comeing from motor
but on flat ground it wont make the noise or in park
gonna pull the front axle cover and take pics.
any other ideas?
i have a spare low pinion axle from 2001 will this even work with a 4.5 lift at all
would i need a custom d shaft?
