How many leaf springs should i run???

How many leaf springs should i run???
I currently have RE 3.5" packs (6 leafs) with 3" blocks
. I want to loose the blocks and maybe add a couple leafs. I'm wondering how many leafs do you think I would need to get the same lift height I have with the blocks. I know it will vary, I'm just looking for a start. Also should I run short leafs or long leafs. I play mostly on the rocks so I want to keep the flex, but I dont mind loosing some if it lets me loose the blocks. Thanks

the most you can do is trial an error. my last pack had 7 leafs, where my new pack that is taller has 4....
it is all about spring rate. so trial and error...

i have not done it. but i would suggest going to the junk yard with a tape measure and find some that have good arch and are the right width. i am not sure if they are the right width, but i would look at helper springs off of pick ups and vans.

The blocks have been fine so far with hard wheeling but they do creat a lot of axle wrap. I'm afraid it's going to shear the pinion bolts.
