Default How to fix leaky sunroof

For those with leaky sunroofs, if you plan to use your sunroof ( mine doesn't work and I do care ) this could still help you, if you make adjustments to where you put this concoction

You need
100% silicone addhesive
Paint thinner or menral spirt

Take X amount of silicone and put it in a bowl, add paint thinner and begin to mix them together ( this takes some time and muscle ) till silicone and thinner turn into a liquid. Now just pour the mix around the edge of your sun roof. Let dry, then rub the excess material away.
Why find the leak when this will find and seal it for you.
Hope this helps someone

They leak for 2 reasons the gasket is old and cracked or the drain line is clogged up with dirt and stuff. If you want a new gasket its a crap shoot but http://www.americansunroof.com/ might have one for it.As far as the drain line you gotta pull your headliner and half the interior to remove the line to clean it out or replace it.

A sunroof is just a controlled leak. The drains are the only thing that keeps the water out of the cabin. The seal around the glass is only for wind noise. Keep the drains clear and there should be no problem with wet seats.

The only sunroofs I have seen that didn't leak were newer "Factory Installed" ones period!

If it's a factory sunroof just clean out the drainage hoses, should be four of them. If it's a cheap pop up sunroof you just have to live with it, duct tape helps.
