from thinking about it for 30 seconds, get it on the lift, or stands or whatever, take of the wheels, make sure to get it high enough so that you can raise or lower the axle to full movement, get it so that you can rotate the axle spin test at high and low so that there is minimum binding and find the happy medium...
or just wait for a better answer

bad info.

if you don't get it perfect, you will have vibrations, some that can be too intolerable to drive the rig.

first, you will need an angle finder.

If you are running the stock driveshaft and slip yoke transfer case, you measure the angle of the t-case output, and want to match the angle of the pinion with that.

If you are running an sye and dual cardan shaft with the slip in the driveshaft, then you measure the angle of the driveshaft, and get the pinion angle about 1-2 degrees below the driveshaft angle. This will compensate for axle wrap when at cruising throttle (when the vibrations are most pronounced)

the top 2 setups are slip yoke eliminators with dual cardan shafts, the bottom is the stock transfer case output with stock shaft. note the pinion angle.

Loosen the rear bolt where Lca mounts to frame bracket. Loosen the two bolts on the rear of the same bracket. Insert shim, tighten the two rear boltz first, and the Lca bolt last. 1/8"-3/16" shim should be about right

Um...Cherokees don't have control arms in the rear...

The rear bolt of front LCA, it's the one that connects to the frame not the axle.

Gotcha, front axle.I think he meant rear, but then, he didn't specify.

What are you talking about?

I dont think the OP is doing anything with the front axle. No reason to shim the front at 3" because of the DC front shaft.

The rear is leaf sprung, no control arms...

The shims are supplied by Jeep when doing an alignment to increase caster. After installing my lift I had DW, added the shims to correct caster, and DW went bye bye. I learned about resolving the issue from a CF tech write up.
