how do i tell if leaf springs are sagging

thinking about putting a 1.75" daystar lift in, with shackel rfelocating brackets for rear.

how can i tell if leaf springs are ok and will support it?

they still have an upward arch, or are they flat??

rcolman 07-25-2011 11:32 AM

flat ... guess shackle relocation is not a good idea

if they are stock springs, and you have a 91=96 XJ, being the newest one is 15 years old, then new springs are always the best way to go, but stock ones will look flat if they are sagging, with lift springs you have to measure body to spring clearance to be able to tell

this is actually a 1999. what should the body to spring clearance measure?

it differs with lift springs and stock springs. which ones are you measuring for, if lift springs, which brand and lift size, shackles or not?

if you measure from frame rail to axle tube it is 6" rear and 6 3/4" front
