Default 7 rocker switches, no trimming.

Here's a link for the steel 7 switch plate. 1/2 the price of the 3d printed plastic. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-2001-J...g/192387675681

That is a much better option for people who want to go with the contura/carling style switches and lose the OEM switches

I just drilled through the fire wall. Since I am using relays to activate the lights, I just ran a thermostat wire from the switches to the relays. That gave me 5 wires in a narrow sleeve.

There is a rubber grommet on driver side firewall that enters cab near brake pedal. Has room for additional signal wires. I understand there is also a grommet on passenger side firewall on 1997+.

My most recent project was to make new panels to go in place of the idiot light panel above the headlight switch and a new panel to replace the clock and cig lighter panel. Added a new cig lighter power source as well as two USB sources

Made this one. Requires lots of trimming and fitting but it was an inexpensive project while I was gimped up.

Just bought this 01 XJ. Stoked... Any whoo, this is where I'm putting the switches. Above indicator lights will be wired to radio illumination wire. They will light up when lights are on. The holes below them, now house LED's. They will will light up when switch is on...

Thanks for this one, just ordered. One complaint about the newer style XJ is that there's absolutely no dash area to put any switches, and I'm wary of putting my locker switches anywhere on the center console where something can be dropped on them and activating.

Also here if you need more room. But you do have to drill. No problem drilling from the engine compartment. Plenty of room.
