How big of a tranny cooler should I get? Would the stock heavy duty one be good if I got it from auto zone?

As big as you could fit in front of your RAD.

its not like it a duralast trans cooler its actually a decent brand the thing about trans coolers is if your running a fan and thermal efficiency is key and mounting

for junk yard find if you can source one an oil cooler from an rx7 would be as big you can find. i run a cx racing 11x9 triple pass oil cooler and -10 an lines. i also run one for an actual oil cooler. both work great. granted its a bit over kill, but its insurance i'm willing to pay for. i ran a hayden from autozone and it leaked at the flairs constantly. cheaply made and the hose just can't stand up to atf. junk imo

Can't really make it out to a junkyard before they close because of work. And I kinda would like to have it in this weekend. If I got one from napa or autozone, what would be a good brand and does anyone know the biggest one dimension wise?

Put it this way, the one I have, on the box it listed "RVs" as a common application, it was the largest one they sold. El Nino did the same setup on his DD/tow XJ, only he went to Autozone and got the biggest one.

Edit -

Correction, mine was the 2nd biggest they sold. Heres the specs off their website -

Imperial Econo-Kool® tube and fin transmission cooler
Size: 3/4" x 7-1/2" x 12-1/2"
Mid-size and full-size cars, pickups
GVWR up to 18,000 lbs
