Research, research, research. There's like 10 threads just like this everyday. Is this a wheelin rig or a pavement pounder? What's your budget? I wouldn't go any bigger than 31s or maybe 32s.

How much of the suspension has already been replaced, is it a rust bucket?

Won't happen, the harder you wheel it the more stuff you break, the more $$$$ you spend.

You can fit a 30" tire stock and 31" with a little bumper trimming. Make sure you have the u joint yoke on the front axle before you lift it other wise the drive shaft won't last with anything over 2". Fairly easy swap if you have the CV. I ran 33s on mine with 3" and at 4" ran 35s but my fenders were trimmed a little. With the stock axles 33s are your max size. The rear axles in ZJs tend to be on the weak side.

2" lift with 31s. Ran that setup on my old ZJ. Mint daily driver, decent in the woods.
