How are BF Goodrich All Terrains in the mud?
 

I hear that they fill up with mud. How bad are they in the mud?

They are probably the best AT in the mud - but that isn't saying a lot.

They do load up quickly and don't clear real well.

so will i have problems in the mud?

Ran them on my zj and they wore great but yes you have to keep them cleaned out.

they are the worst tire i have ever used in the mud. the do not clean out for **** not to mention they are not a tread pattern that is designed for mud at all.

They worked great on my 93 zj (v8)

I have them on my XJ not such a great tire for mud.. but they worked great everywhere else though!!

The one thing I always say about my dura tracs is that they just aren't a dedicated mud tire... They do ok, but in the thick stuff, tend to not clean out well. But that's ok cause my XJ isn't a dedicated wheeling machine, either. The good outweighs the bad, though. They kick *** in the snow, which is an issue here. So I sacrificed off road capability for overall capability. Idk my 02...

i will agree that the duratracs are a great all around tire. if the option is out there most of the hybrids do well enough. cooper S/T's, duratracs, mastercraft CT, mickey thompson ATZ's, dick cepek FC-2

They are good in mud, not so good in thick mud/clay. My buddy and I both run BFG ATs and we both got stuck in the same type of clay, but I had great success in regular mud in 2wd.

I think the Duratracs do better in the mud but I went with the BFG over those due to the 3 ply sidewall. I don't do mud much but I do a ton of on road driving and spend most of my offroad time on rocks. The BFG's have impressed me.

They are AT's not mud tires. With that being said they suck in the mud. They clog super easy. I have a set of BFG MT's mounted on some cheap steelies that I use when I go mudding, and I use the AT's for street driving.

They cake up in the mud, you have to spin them REALLY fast to clean them out. They work better than awesome in soft sand though.

I chose to go with duratracs because i go through a pretty good mix of soft sugar sand and clay pits. They havent let me down yet. They ride a little rough to me because i could only get them in a load range E. Oh well.
