Hood standoffs
Just seeing if anyone has done this to their hood. I really don't want to cut my hood to put vents in, so I seen this to do for a hood vent. It will raise the back of the hood about 1/2" off the cowl. Just want some feedback if its actually lowed under hood temps.
Thanks

Lead Foot you beat me to it
There site says they are $30 plus shipping.
Go to a hardware store, buy 4 bolts that are 1 in. longer & some washers.
You'll have money left over for lunch & a 12 pack.

I'm going to make my own but dose it lower under hood temps or am I going to wasted my time taking my hood off and doing something like that?

You can do it either way, if you choose to remove the hood for some reason, make sure you check the alignment "gaps" as you close it SLOWLY for the first time. If it is off too much it can cause a lot of headaches and some damage if you slam it right away... ask my buddy how I know.

People complain about safety with this mod, but there are three latches at the front. If you manage to break all that, you have bigger problems than the bolts at the rear.
That said, this won't help with overheating. It will lower underhood (not coolant) temps and help with the lifespan of rubber hoses and such.

Did it my garage last night one side at a time. It Was really easy. I had more time realigning the hood.
Thanks for all your help :-)

I like it,looks good.
When I took a hood off for a motor swap,I marked on the hood where the hood & hinges were originally. When I put it back on I just lined the marks back up & it was perfect.
