Well I believe I read/ heard you could use the rear sway bar mount for bar pin enlimintor.

I decided cause I'm cheap and already had a pair. So first I un bolted the bottom of the shock and placed the mount down where the shock bolts up and through a bolt in and tightened it down. Marked where the over hang was to be cut off. Also marked where my new hole for the bolt will be to make sure there would be enough metal left.
I cut about an inch off the mount and drilled a new hole with a 3/8" drill bit. Did the normal process to remove the bar pin. I used the metal insert from the bushing on the rear sway bar link in the shock bushing had to remove some of the shock bushing it get it to fit back in the eye. Its still a tight fit.
Putting everything back together had to weld one of the bolts to the mount cause you can't get to it with the shock in place.

Got more pictures in different angles? I read about doing that in the rear, but this is the first time I see using it on the front axle

I've heard stuff about shocks binding or something because the mount is rotated 90 degrees. Very clever and cost effective! I spent thirty bucks on these

There is a little binding with the stud mount up top. But I also plan to get stud elimination kit to help that out. Ill take pics of full range of Shocks

both mount orientations will bind, as you have it, during axle droop. Depending on how far your suspension can travel will determine if it's a problem or not. I used to destroy upper bushings, once I went to long arm, before converting the mounting top over to what's typically seen on the bottom (5150 Bilsteins). For me, that proved to be a much bigger issue than a little noise from the lower mount.

Bar pin eliminators are not rocket science. You're just looking to get good compression on the interior sleeve of a 5/8" shock eye bushing - they're about 1/16" undersized to the bushing length for that reason. I'm sure when you tighten your new lower mount, the sides are collapsing inward and there you go, knocking sound it gone. I still think the top mount is a bigger problem.

When I installed the bottom eye of the shock I had no inward movement of the side of the sway bar mount. Cause I used the sleeve from the end link bushing from the sway bar end link which is a tight fit to begin with.

This is a untested mod so far my jeep hasn't seen any trail time yet as I'm in the middle of a build. I will do what I can to put the shock through its motions to see what if any bind issues there is.

A good buddy of mine used a similar mount for a chevy shock mount with long arms and had very little bind issues.

And that's fine - the sleeve is needed and should just be ~ 1/8" shorter than the bushing length overall. It's just how you have it clocked perpendicular to the arc the axle will travel during droop. It's not that your axle won't move, it's just that it will put a lot of load on that end mount after it crushes the ba-gezus out of that bushing. With normal driving it shouldn't matter though.

In the process of doing this mod on my XJ as we speak. DO you have any idea as to where I can buy the bushing sleeve? I can't seem to find them anywhere with out having to buy a new shock entirely.

Quick search on my AutoZone app. I know it says chevy but my guess you could find it for other rigs too

Thanks for looking it up. I actually just found a metal sleeve at the ace by my house. It had a perfect diameter but it was a little short. It didn't fit the entire length of the bushing that I had installed. But I'm pretty happy with the purchase. I can't imagine it being an issue.

Honest question here: Why a BPE in the front? Both ends of the fasteners are accessible with wrenches/sockets with the stock mount

I have seen them done that way before, but I only did mine in the rear. I'm only nervous for when I go to replace them. I have a bad feeling the bolt is going to sieze in that new bushing sleeve I threw in there. And I'll have to take the whole BPE down to remove it anyways.
