don't move this one to fabrication section! lol.. anyways just thinking about making an adapter when i remove the stock radio for a single din aftermarket one, to also hold my cb in the same hole.. anyone else done that? if so got a pic? I'm out the door to diag my non op blower motor before work.. gonna hopefully have some time to eyeball this idea in the dash too...

What year are you? 96+ have more room in the stock radio location. Earlier years, good luck. There is no room for a radio AND a CB AND the climate controls. Here is what I did:




And yes, all climate controls and vents are still 100% functional.

its a 98 5 speed.. I think I can get to just barely fit.. I think.. have to pull the stock radio out to see...

well I think with a little modification to the stock facia I can get them both to fit.. got a laundry list of things to do tomorrow to the toys, this is one of them pictures hopefully tomorrow...

Do yourself a favor and just go buy one of the Cobra CB's (under a $100) where everything is in the mic except for a remote mounted box about 3x1x1". The antenna/mic and an external speaker if you wish plug into it.

I have several radios mounted in my XJ the other is an amateur radio as I'm licensed. It has a remote head on it also the body of the radio is under the passenger seat with the control head mounted on a windshield mount.

I use the CB rarely, cant really justify buying another one.. i should just make it. now im sick so gonna put it off again lol..
