Lol... maybe it's cause my lenses have a shield over the bulb but I even accidently road home from town the night before last with my brights on and not a nobody even flashed me... course I don't have crazy bright blues either...
I'm not doing all that though... lol.... actually selling mine so I can eliminate more wiring and go LED...

HID's in a halogen housing are the ****ing worst - no matter what you say. Even with the bulb sheilds, most of the light intensity is lost to the **** poor design of the reflector. LED"s in the same housing would be equally inefficient.
And besides, I dont give up that easily! I am basically waiting until my ballasts show up on Tuesday to keep cutting (I want to finish one headlight fully so I can at least make the 2nd one as good as it can be). Read alot about the epoxy-only mounting method and I am satisfied that it'll be adequate. I was going to try to fab up some sort of retainer rings for the back of the housing, but there is no way to waterproof that properly.
I got my Gatling Gun shrouds TSX-R lenses and spacers today as well. I'll start with the Philips 85122+ bulbs first and switch to some 5000k bulbs at some point and see how I like em. Plan is to go with a flat black reflector, and leave the chrome "hammered" finish of the Gatling gun shrouds.

Truck lites but I hear someone's got LED h4 bulbs now... I'll get around to searching it up and pics after install one of these days... only reason I want to get rid of mine is I rebuilt all my wiring in the comanche after the dash swap and I decided I just want as minimal as possible in wires since since a lot of my past problems have been chafed wires or bad grounds... In a renix I found under the dash 12 grounds duct taped together from the factory... In fact I found they used duct tape to tie everything in instead of electrical or heat shrink... it's about to be pretty much a trailer queen after the axle swap anyway...

But you still have to run ballast with them so not any less wiring. Which is what he is looking for. I wanted Truck Lites but
they don't put out enough light to warrant there price

Yup, and a single Philips 85122+ does over 3000 lumens. Hard to beat bang for buck, which is why I DO like HID's in offload halogen housings. Great bang for buck and bright hell. On the street, they are definitely bright, but their light dispersion is 100% not suited for any sort of traffic. Lots of glare in your rear view, and even more if you are oncoming. Dangerous and irresponsible at the very least.

Well the ballasts kill them for me and ya the truck lites are high dollar... maybe ill stick with what I got or do this commander swap or just ditch the lights and run a Chinese "rigid" led light in the housing lol
