Default Help me spend my tax return!

I'm gonna be getting about 1100 bucks back.

as of now I have a 3.5" RE AAL cut fenders 15x8 D windows, Discos, Shackle relocation kit going on this weekend, 31" m/ts a couple LED light pods and a few other little things here and there.

I'm trying to decide what to get.

as of now I'm thinking trying to decide between this:

SYE

Liquid iron industries front bumper brackets and some sheet metal to fab a bumper

winch?

33x10.50 KM2's and sell my 31's

try and find an 8.25 or 8.8 to swap

I kinda wanna do a locker but I don't know if I wanna waste the money on stock axles.

open to suggestions.

also I was doing some searching but didn't see anything about how to ID my 30 as a HP or a LP...

thoughts?

it's such a tough choice. i've always wanted a winch but when I put those shackle relocation brackets on it's gonna lift it 1.5" so I'm gonna do coil spacers up front to level it out, or maybe just get some 4.5" springs and I'm worried that'll give me driveline vibrations, and it's also gonna make the 31"s look incredibly small.

Lock that d30 with an Aussie locker. If it is a hp.
Lp d30s are only found in 00 and 01 xjs.
Very easy to tell. Go to a junkyard or look on craigslist and find a 8.25. A 8.8 is really only needed for 35s+.
Tried and true. It's a good locker and on 31s you won't need upgraded shafts or anything.

Save the rest.. IMO
I too love to spend money as soon as I get it. Save and buy something good like a jcr bumper or rigid co.

Yes to both: You will need an SYE and 33s for that amount of lift. Also a double shear adjustable track bar to recenter your front axle. Thats that for your tax refund.

Btw. They sell shackle relocators that don't lift. Stay away from FSTs. Holes don't line up worth a **** I had a bad experience

well it's a 96 so by that logic I should have a HP.

and I do wanna go to 35's eventually though I guess I could just try and source an 8.25 for cheap and do an 8.8 much later on.
that locker is sounding really tempting. are the aussies selectable it's been a while since I've done locker research. the XJ is a DD for the time being. hopefully getting a JK in the future to DD but that'll be later this year hopefully.

and I've got a buddy that's a master welder. can't bring my self to spend the money on a bumper when I could just buy some brackets and weld one up with him.

forgot to mention I've got an RE adjustable track bar as well.
gahhhh it's such a tough choice. that locker is sounding good though honestly...I think a locked front will get me further on 31's than open and 33's...

FST's? and yeah I realized that after ordered mine. worst case I get a T-case drop for the time being.

okay so I did some reading on the Aussie. from what I'm understanding obviously its an auto locker, but it still allows you to make tight turns off road when in 4wheel and doesn't really provide any issues on road when installed in the front axle correct?

starting to think that may be the way to go. sounds like the most bang for the buck.

Lockers & a winch. 1 to get you into the mess, and 1 to get you out!

really starting to lean that way. I think I can swing an aussie front, a winch and materials for a bumper and maybe even have a little left.

I am going to agree with helmut. Get the SYE and track bar first.

Do you have factory control arms. If so, you will need aftermarket control arms if you lift the front any more.

got LCAs with the lift. factory UCAs.

so I went and priced out stuff through Classic City Off Road, the local shop I try and get most of my parts from, awesome guys and extremely knowledgable. plus they build some BAAAAAAD ****. (shameless plug)

looking like I can swing an SYE kit, front locker, and a winch from them and still have a little left over for materials to build a front bumper.
awww yiiissssss. not top of the line stuff, but definitely not bottom of the barrel either.

then I'll just need a d/s. I think I remember reading that you can use an XJ front drive shaft in the rear with an SYE, but I can't remember if it needs to be lengthened or shortened or not. can anyone shed some light on that?

Want my PayPal? I can help spend it!

Do a front lunchbox locker, swap the rear end, and make a bumper.

I'll help you do the locker if you want to drive to my house.
