Default Help with finding new front axle

So I want to upgrade my front axle in the near future to a Dana 44. I want to find one from a JY but I don't know which cars would have a D44 that would fit my Cherokee. Can anyone help me with which cars would have this and also what other parts I would need in order to make the swap.

you know, if these questions would simply just get answered more often, there would be more results to FIND in people's searches. it's pretty damn annoying when i search through countless threads trying to find info only to see that the poster of the thread was told to search elsewhere.

JUST SAYIN.

I know for a fact I've answered it in at least 3-4 threads.

It's easy, just find out which models have the driverside driveshaft, everything else will be welded in place. If your not looking to weld, then you're not looking for a Dana 44.

Not true, Dana 44 comes in the tjs? Thier bolt in, not a "true" 44 but good for 33s or 35s
And could always go aftermarket for about $3,000

If I were you I'd look for a Wagoneer D44. They're low pinion but by far the best bang for your buck, IMO.

I thought that the Wagoneer had passenger side driveshaft? At least the ones I've seen.

Thanks, I just wasn't sure if there were any specific cars I should look for to take it off of.

If you have time to post this, you have time to read the ton of threads on this forum and others on the topic. This is far from a bolt in affair, and your options are essentially limitless. So start reading.

Keep in mind that dude started with an axle that someone had already started on. They don't come with brackets on them.

Look for an early 80's Wagoneer.
