no no... You would want a lower backspacing value to make the tire stick further out. Backspacing is the distance from the hub mounting face to the inner lip edge. So I would look for a 4.0" or 3.75" for a 31x10.5 and 8" wheel.

4" for a 10.5!? I'm running 4.25 BS on 12.5 tires(8inch rim) and only rub at full lock. My buddy has 4.25 BS (8 inch rims) and 10.5 tires and doesn't even come close to rubbing. You could probably get away with 4.5-4.75 with no rubbing however I am not certain. 4.25 should be plenty.

Mine is is lifted 3 in. The only time I rub is in reverse at half lock.

The very tip of my shoulder lug catches the bottom lip of the flares. Literally it JUST BARELY touches. Im just going to zip that little lip off and it will be all good.

Im running 4.25 back spacing and 31x10.5 BFG KM's

4.5 at the most anything smaller should be ok. I think anything less than 4.25 would stick out way to far. Mine already stick out a good 1-1.5 inches on 4.25.

I run 31x10.50x15's on my DD with a 3" lift and 4.25" BS on an 8" rim. Mine does not rub with the sway bars hooked up.

The picture isn't straight on but you get the point.

I was back and forth with 4 & 4.25. A lot of ur decision should be based ur total lift planned. If ur staying @ 3" then I would agree with the above and get 4.25 to 4.5. I plan on lifting what's in my sig, but I didn't want a wider rim then 8". And a tire taller than a 32 so I went with 4"bs. So imo if ur gonna go biggerthan 3" iwould consider 4" bs. Just some thing to keep in mind.

go with 3.75" thats what i have and i think it looks awesome. it will give you that wider stance without sticking out too far. i dont have flares on and i love it.
