Default HELP and ADVICE on SYE install!!

Hey guys important question.. I have a RC 6.5 long arm lift and got my SYE today.. Here is the thing.. Do I NEED to drop my crossmember for this install???? I am just dreading it since the arms are connected and all the extra support for the crossmember that came with the lift... I am going to do the install with the t/c still in the jeep..

I DO NOT want to start and realize I have to..

You shouldn't, as long as the skid is off

I've done several with the t-case in. No real hassle. Read the instructions a couple times.

So it is done.. one question is how loose is the chain supposed to be??? Mine seems to have a lot of slack... like I had to push it up to put the two halves back together. . Is that normal?

Yes, it's normal. It tightens up a bit once the rear cover is on and tightened up more once the tailshaft housing is on.

So I got everything back together. Much better ride quality but... the fast snapping noise is still there coming from the t/c. It does it in 2wd but its not horribly loud. Gets a little louder as it gets warmer...
Chain??

It is possible that the chain is stretched and slapping the case. See any marks or anything when you had it apart? Magnet full of crap?

No marks really, I did check... but the magnet was like a rectangle of sludge metal when I pulled it out yes..
