Want to upgrade my u joints. Is there any you guys recommend? Anyone that sells some on the forum?

Spicers are OEM, how is that an upgrade?

Well since it's cold forged and replaces a 15+ year old stock joint, I'd call it an upgrade
Obviously the real upgrade would be full circle snap rings. walk into a parts store, grab some spicers, and install your new ujoints later that day. I couldn't break mine
What makes your "heavy duty alloy" ujoint such an upgrade over spicer? It's greasable? Ew

No, it's a simple replacement.
the alloy X joint is greaseable via 4 individual zerks, not a crossed drilled trnion fed by 1 zerk. It's stronger as a result. And then there's this...
So yeah....it IS an upgrade.

Dependable cold forged steel composition made of chromium, molybdenum and nickel alloy. Hardened case for excellent wear resistance. Full circle clips as well as half clips included.

ah yes since we all know the difference between chromium/molybdenum and the "high quality steel" used in a spicer joint

I'd rather just walk into a parts store and go install my ujoints at $30ea. why bother with shipping. good luck breaking either joint when used with full circle clips
yes yours is an upgrade over a spicer. but the only reason I'd ever go with yours is if I wanted greasable

CTMs are great for guys with build 60s and steering 14 bolts. Put them in a D30, and instead of breaking a $24 joint that can be fixed easily on the trail in a relatively short time you'll destroy a shaft, and if you don't have a spare you are screwed. Or run chromo shafts with CTMs and blow apart a carrier/r&p...have fun getting home on that

hmm... i guess it really all depends on your goals..
spicer u-joints for daily driver.. light duty wheeling.. if your not modded crazy.. i wouldn't see a necessity in divulging a ton of money into one part... unless you just felt better about having top notch stuff...

my definition of light duty wheeling wasnt clear enough...
that would include mudding.. trail riding.. climbing...
hardcore wheeling.. which i don't recommend stock rigs do.. would be like turning 5000 rpm on 44 inch tires.. slamming into rocky ridges at 45 degree angles to climb something similar to this...
thats my definition of "wheeling hard" definately not on stock u-joints lol

when building a D30, it can be assumed that you'll be grouped into the "light duty wheeling" category by default. and anyone that does wheel hard on a D30 generally upgrades to a different axle. I'm a firm believer that if you're breaking D30 parts consistently, you're doing something wrong, or it's time for a different axle. it's not a toothpick. and spicers (with full circle clips!) are plenty strong for rock crawling
yes it is an OEM replacement. but it is stronger than an actual factory D30 ujoint. and when used with full circle clips it's definitely an upgrade. however slight. *cough* *cough* Serious
