Headliner
I plan to pull down my headliner and use spray adhesive to glue a jolly roger pirate flag to my headliner. I know i have to scrape the old glue off and spray both sides let them get tacky then press them together doing about a foot to 2 feet at a time and rolling out the creases. My question is while i have that out should i spray bedliner on the entire interior roof, or use a foam roll or nothing at all before i reinstall the headliner. The reason i am asking is because i have read in various places but have not found a solid answer that the additional layer will keep heat inside the cab in the winter and keep outside heat outside during the summer. Is this true. If so which option is most effective. Is it worth putting the money into adding the additional layer. And will it even make a noticeable difference. I'm down for any thoughts, tips, ideas. I am not 100 sure how the headliner comes off since spring i took all the trim off and painted it black without giving much thought on checking out the headliner. I still am doing my research just thought asking the community would help decrease the chances for mistakes. Thank you

I used Reflective Roll Insulation from Lowes and aluminum tape on my roof. It helps deaden sound as well as keeps the interior cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I wouldn't paint, or linex it as the metal expands and contracts with temperatures.

Absolutely, I was planning on using some sound deadening to stick to the roof (30% coverage is enough to deaden significantly), as well as a layer of the above bubble insulation (known as Reflectix). You can get it at home depot
But if you want sound deadening, pick some of this up - use some break cleaner or Klean Strip to get the best adhesion. Making sure the sound deadening is well stuck is important
I think this would be enough, but buy more because you can use it on the doors, trunk, and floor as well. I did the floor and it made a HUGE difference

Excellent idea thank both of you. I was planning on a rubber roll for the floor with carpet cut to shape over it then my floor mats. Was thinking what to use on the doors and the rear quarter panels on the inside. I will definetly go that route.

Just did mine.
I re did my headliner and added sound deadening from fat matt. Kit includes knife and roller. I bought the 36 sq ft kit for less than 80 bucks. It comes in sheets. I have enough for some in the doors also.

When I put in the overhead console in my '00 I did a little sound deadening too. Plus a little closed cell foam. I think it made a difference. But understand I did not really care. It was more a "Well while we are here" thing.

I will definetly check out every product. Sadly had to come into work just swapped my drivers rear door Now my interior lights stay on dim. So i have to chase that electrical issue down before i continue. When i push the jamb switches they go from bright to dim. Smack the jeep they turn off. I later realized i touch the overhead console and it will turn on and again it's off so i disconnected it and got ready for work. Aside from that i am looking forward to insualting this now that my floor panels have been repaired and my newborn son will keep warm this winter when we head to and from

I tried to research what to do. Kinda was looking for the absolute right way to do this guide. Really only found opinions. All good ones mind you but really just wanted somebody to tell me "Just do this". So I made a thread of what I did. Right or wrong here is what I did. Have not done the floor yet though.

Actually, I used Peel and Seal on the floors. Worked great, no smell, and cut the heat coming off the trans tunnel by like 100%
Wish I had added some mroe when I had the dash apart to do the heater core....

Anyone come across approximately how many feet would be needed to cover the roof floor doors and tail hatch? Maybe 100 feet?

I ordered 36 sq ft. It covered the roof and should have enough left over to put some in the 4 doors. None in hatch. But I figure when I remove the interior to check the condition i will do the floor and hatch.
