Head rebuild
Ok,
Ive tried searching and have found some info on here. However its the general suggestion to rebuild your head not buy this kit from here etc etc.
Anyways I have a light clicking/tapping nothing bad but it will get there. So I have found a ok looking head out in town and Im going to possibly pick up for 40 bucks. I will be putting in my 93 cherokee and pulling the one on my motor.....idk maybe just hold onto it idk. However I do plan to have it flattened and have a 3 angle job done on the head.
However aside from that im kinda a miss. I want to replace with good parts but for these inline 6 motors it seems either oem or way over and beyond my need for the valve train to be. So any insight or maybe that is it all the way extreme or oem?
to cover incase it gets asked what I want to/do do with this jeep, its a 2wd jeep that will eventually get a front axle put in just kinda addressing day to day driveability and small issues before I get into making it 4x4. Want it running tip top before I tear it all apart lol. It will see trail use but not be beaten to death daily just mild trail and off road every couple weekends.
thanks

Make sure the head you are buying is for an HO motor, the renix and ho heads are different.
If the valves look ok, just have it checked for flatness, valve job done, and new valve seals. Check the rockers and springs, if all is well thats all i would do.

oh thats something else I need to look up casting numbers on, He said its an HO head but ya I want to be certain. The head has been off with no valve cover for a while and had 150xxx+ miles so im looking to replace the rockers and springs at a minimum, possibly valves I havent been able to see what they are looking like.
