Dude,,,
I did mine with a Shimano gear selecter from a bicycle shop in the area. Get a new 64" cable too. Run the cable thru both of your shifter boots
and into the engine compartment. Using the existing throttle cable bracket, drill a small hole for the new cable end and carefully screw it into the brackei. Make sure it is inline with the throttle arm. Wrap the new cable around the arm where the factory cable goes and crimp it. I used an electrical connector to hold mine. Make sure the cable is pressed into the factory cable loom. Use duct tape to make up space on the shifter where you want to mount the lever.

Strange. I'd never want that.
How is that modification beneficial?
I could see it getting hit by accident...
I'd like to have a hand throttle on a manual vehicle but I'd want it to return to idle when i let go. That just seems dangerous any other way.

Mine stays where you put it until you push it back.
A slightly heavier return spring on the TB arm helps,, but is NOT necessary.
================================================== ===
And the benefits are this,, when you are crawling around the woods you do not need a third leg to work all 3 pedals at the same time.
This mod is mainly for those with a MANUAL TRANNY.
But it is also used for holding revs up for onboard air, winching, compressors or a an onboard welder.
And for about half the price you can do it the way I suggested.
Your call OP

You can run a wire and make your Jeep run high idle.
That would be ok.
